That is the lag you're seeing, the time it takes for the data to be read from the point of nothing to become something on your screen. So instead of relying on memory, you will be relying on your disks read speed. The catch is that This also means that everything has to load much much closer. This means the farthest LOD lvl (nothing at all) will be much closer then you really want. At low setings these four parameters are very very low. In the ini files there are four settings that define the LOD levels and where they change.
